“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.”
— Proverbs 22:6 —
Your four-year-old is biting her brother again…
Your six-year-old can’t fall asleep because she keeps thinking about tomorrow…
Your three-year-old is on the floor screaming because his cup is the wrong color…
They don’t have the words or tools to calm themselves yet, and you don’t have a screen-free way to teach them. So you’re stuck, wondering if there’s a better way to help them than just white-knuckling through every tantrum?
Yep, there is a better way.
Through the wisdom of the saints and the science of emotional regulation, we’re giving little ones the skills to calm their bodies and speak kindly to themselves. So they don’t have to be 24, 34, or 44 years old before they learn how.
This guide is awesome. An easy-to read manual that will help you set the tone for a more peaceful, kinder summer with less bickering and more fun.
The Summer of Kindness Parent Guide gives you a simple road map, starting first with the research that reinforces your instinct that this is worth your time. Then you have a step-by-step guide with:
PLUS: A quick reference fridge sheet, a family sticker chart to track acts of kindness, reward ideas, calendar template and more!
At snack time, Dominic’s little brother Leo bursts into tears over a broken cracker. Dominic rolls his eyes and snaps, “You’re being a baby!” The words fly out before he can stop them, and his stomach goes heavy with regret.
Mama Dragon doesn’t shame Dominic for the slip. She gently teaches him that sharp words can always be re-done. With her help, Dominic learns to ask for a do-over and whispers “Jesus, help me try again.”
This story gives your little one a real, repeatable way to make repair when their words come out wrong. Without shame, without piling on, and with Jesus right there.
Crispin the crow sees his friend Jude doing something the hard way, and Crispin really does know the better way. But the way he says it makes Jude’s face fall.
Hildegard the Owl gently teaches Crispin that words can be right and kind at the same time. The teaching: “Right info, wrong tone.” The two questions to ask before speaking: Is it kind? Is it needed?
This is a story for the kid who’s often technically correct, but learning that being right isn’t the same as being a good friend.
Tina calls out to her friend across the meadow. No answer. Tina calls again. Still nothing. Her heart goes hard, “She’s ignoring me on purpose.” And just like that, Tina is mad about a story she made up.
Mama Tiger helps Tina soften her heart and think of three other reasons her friend might not have heard her. The phrase: assume the best. The prayer: “Jesus, soften my heart.”
This story gives your little one one of the most powerful relational skills there is: the pause before deciding someone has done you wrong. A skill many grown-ups are still learning.
Ignatius is sorting his rock collection on his favorite sun-warm rock when his little brother Ollie won’t stop interrupting. “GO AWAY!” is bubbling up in his throat… but he knows that’s not the kind way.
Mama Otter teaches Ignatius that needing space is okay, and there’s a kind way to ask for it: “I need a few minutes.” The prayer he whispers: “Come, Holy Spirit, help me calm down.”
For the little one who gets overstimulated by a busy househol. This story gives them the words to honor their need for quiet without snapping at the people they love.

Your Guardian Angel is a quiet reflection about your child’s very own guardian angel, there with them as they quiet their body and their mind for a peaceful night’s rest.
Who am I?
That couldn’t possibly be how God wanted me to live out my vocation of motherhood. So I learned how to enjoy the day-to-day life of mothering, and a lot of it came down to emotional regulation — understanding how feelings worked in my body and how I could calm myself down when the big feelings hit.
Ten years ago, I started teaching these skills to Catholic moms. And immediately, they asked: “How can we teach these skills to our kids so they don’t have to wait until adulthood to learn this?”
So I finally did it. Calm Catholic Kids is my answer: fun audio adventure stories that teach emotional regulation skills to kids ages 3–8, rooted in Catholic faith.
Each story teaches a kindness skill along with a catch phrase to remember it. I have also included a practice track that covers all 8 skills and catchphrases so your kiddo can practice!
Just wanted to say thanks for your product, literally rescued our day!
My son really didn’t want to go to our co-op this morning and I played the one about being scared and he got ready painlessly — and even at bed time, instead of getting out of bed 7 times, he fell asleep listening to a deliciously calming but Catholic bedtime story.
The practice for the story is great too cause it both helps him as well as coaches me on what to say to help him! Thanks so much!
“I gave her the bedtime stories to listen to and it seemed to have worked!”
I just put the tracks on a Yoto card this past weekend and the kids have enjoyed listening. My 8 year old daughter came downstairs after putting her to bed last night and said she had too much energy to fall asleep. I gave her the bedtime stories to listen to and it seemed to have worked! Thank you!
“I love all your work and it’s been a blessing to me and my family.”
I LOVE them! They calm me down too when I put them on before naptime. I’m still working on putting them on the Yoto but they’ve already been super helpful. Your no-yelling webinar was super eye opening to me. Thank you. I love all your work and it’s been a blessing to me and my family.
“We heard him whispering “Jesus, I trust in You” and taking slow deep breaths.”
We listened to Marie and the Quiet Night before bed. Instead of hearing our 6yo calling for us later because he was scared, we heard him whispering “Jesus, I trust in You” and taking slow deep breaths. He put himself to sleep without worrying himself scared (and I got an uninterrupted evening with my husband). AMAZING.
“It was such a sweet little moment.”
I bought the stories and I have listened to most of them with my “spicy” 5 year old son. I am trying to work with him on the angry outbursts, so the first one resonated.
He started swimming lessons about a week after listening to the little mouse one, so when it was time to go, we practiced the wrist movement and remembering “Jesus is with me.” When he was at the edge of the pool waiting for his turn, we caught eyes and I rubbed my wrist, and he smiled and imitated. It was such a sweet little moment.
Your calm, slow voice gives me an example to imitate too. It was a lightbulb moment to realize I can speak slowly and calmly and it can calm me AND my son down.
“Seeing him breathe in the cool air and blow out the fire and repeat “Jesus I trust in you” is just short of a miracle.”
My 3 and 4 year old boys LOVE the stories! My youngest of four boys is proving to be our most challenging kiddo and he’s three which is already a tough age. He is super persistent and has a very hard time calming down when he is upset. Seeing him breathe in the cool air and blow out the fire and repeat “Jesus I trust in you” is just short of a miracle.
My 4 year old begs to go to sleep listening to the manger story before bed. “Ms. Sterling” has quickly become a household name and your stories are the Yoto cards they now reach for most.
Couldn’t be happier and have recommended them to our preschool buddies and Bible Study mom’s group. Thank you again for such awesome content for our kids!
“Popped the Dominic dragon calm down story on for my tantruming 5yo gal… worked like a charm! And she asked for another one!”
