Can you be a good Catholic mom and work outside the home?

It’s one of the most loaded questions in Catholic motherhood — and there’s no shortage of opinions. But if you’re a working mom, you already know the unique guilt, the logistics, and the quiet questioning that comes with it.

In this episode, I tackle this topic with honesty, compassion, and zero judgment.

We talk about:
* Why working Catholic moms carry a special kind of guilt
* The truth about vocation and work (it’s not what the internet tells you)
* How to find peace in YOUR situation — whether you work by choice or necessity
* Practical strategies for balancing motherhood and career without burning out

TRANSCRIPT OF THE SHOW

Welcome to the Catholic Mom Calm podcast, where moms come to find peace in this wild and beautiful journey of motherhood. Today I wanna talk about being a working mom. Somebody emailed me and said, oh my gosh, tell me everything. What is it like to have your husband home all the time? And I just thought, yeah, I haven’t really talked about that. I haven’t really broken down what our life looks like.

So take a deep breath ’cause I have a hot take on working moms and it’s painful probably if you are a working mom, but I really don’t think that moms should be working. So lemme just say that I really and genuinely do not think that the family unit was designed so that moms would leave the house and work.
