Show Notes

Sometimes the most profound lessons come from the simplest moments.

A chocolate cake. A Tuesday afternoon. Nothing fancy, nothing Instagram-worthy. Just a moment that reminded me of something I keep forgetting: the small things are never really small.

In this episode, I share a story about a simple chocolate cake — and what it taught me about slowing down, savoring the present, and finding God in the ordinary.

We talk about:
* Why we miss the best parts of motherhood when we’re rushing
* How to notice the sacred in the everyday (without adding anything to your plate)
* The connection between simplicity and peace
* A challenge to slow down this week and pay attention

TRANSCRIPT OF THE SHOW

Welcome to the Catholic Mom Calm podcast, where moms come to find peace in this wild and beautiful journey of motherhood. Today I wanna talk about the power of choosing simplicity. And this has come up several times recently in my life or with my friends or my daughter, and I noticed that our inclination in our excitement, it is a beautiful thing to be excited and to love people.

In our excitement, we tend to choose complicated things. So an easy example is my daughter wanted to make a birthday cake for one of her coworkers. One of her coworkers was having a birthday. She said, mom, I wanna make a cake.
